SPEAK UP in the Schools
Bring SPEAK UP to your school community this 2024/2025 year!
SPEAK UP believes today's youth are the change-makers for tomorrow and to create an inclusive environment for students with disabilities, it starts with being kind and accepting to all. Part of our mission is to highlight and celebrate the incredible work students are already doing in their schools and to help build their leadership skills. SPEAK UP has awarded over 25 students in the Quinte & surrounding area for being shining examples of kind and inclusive.

3. ROCK YOUR SOCKS for World Down Syndrome Day (only available March 3rd to 20th)
SPEAK UP's Student Leadership Team will consist of a select group of students at your school in becoming kindness and inclusion leaders. With Sarah's guidance, the SPEAK UP Leadership Team will lead school-wide kindness, inclusion and diversity initiatives, including the creation of a Speak Up Student Declaration.
Option 1: Build a SPEAK UP team that consists of students from different classes and grades in your school. Starting with a school-wide Kickoff Assembly about inclusion, Sarah will introduce the mission of your school's SPEAK UP Leadership Team and how students can apply to be a part of it. Once the team is formed, students will meet for a series of meetings during the school year to take action and create change. The SPEAK UP team will be celebrated at a retreat at the end of the year.
*Note: full and half year teams available.
Option 2: Have one class in your school take the lead on school-wide kindness, inclusion and diversity initiatives. Students and the classroom teacher will be lead through a week-long workshop with Sarah to develop their leadership skills. Together they will create a plan of action to implement school-wide activities throughout the year.
